Americanism
The Ladies Auxiliary VFW is the only organization to celebrate the Statue of Liberty's Birthcay for the past 74 cconsecutive years. On October 28, 2011, members of the Ladies Auxiliary celebrated 125 years since the original dedication of the National Monument that represents freedom to the world. Other Americanism activities include: donating American Flags to school and community groups, presenting certificates to those displaying the U.S. Flag and promoting patriotism in shcools.
The Livingston-Delhi VFW Post 8327 will accept your soiled or tattered flags (U.S., POW/MIA, California, etc.) for proper disposal on Flag Day (June 14th). We also have U.S., POW/MIA, Military Service and California flags for sale. For more information use our CONTACT US page.
Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Aid & Research
The Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Aid & Research program provides Cancer Grants (two in your lifetime) to its members who are in good standing and have been a continuious member for 1 year. These are gifts that do not have to be repaid, however the paperwork of verification has to be filled our by the attending physician. The Livingston-Delhi Auxiliary VFW 8327 also has a small multi disease insurance policy that also covers cancer. The premium for this policy is covered in your membership dues if you are an annual member and if your are a life member the cost is $5.00 per year.
Community Service
Members around the country conduct hundreds of activities to benefit their communities, like donating items to homeless shelters, conducting food drives, giving gifts to children's hospitals, aiding victims of abuse, and cleaning up parks, memorials and highways.
Members also participate in the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project, Make-A-Difference Day and many other national volunteer initiatives.
Hospital & VAVS
Nationwide 55,600 members volunteered 1,198,086 hours in VA Medical Centers, nursing homes and other hospitals during the past year. In addition 34,603 volunteers served 598,122 hours making homemade baked goods and other gifts. A total of $1,863,589 was donated in these endeavors to help hospitalized veterans. National Outstanding Service Pins are available for volunteers who serve 150 to 25,000 hours and Outstanding Service Pins are available from the Department of California for a little as 10 volunteer hours.

Legislative
Speaking out on Capitol Hill for veterans and their families helps secure and protect promises made to our military and makes sure that those who sacrificed for our country are not forgotten. Your membership in the VFW and/or the Ladies Auxiliary VFW gives one more number to take before congress when we are fighting for veterans entitlements. It is time to give back to those who have fought so hard for our freedom both in the past and in the present.
Veterans & Family Support
Members strive to assist veterans and their families by ensuring a suitable standard of living, through financial support, moral support, or by simple acts of kindness. Members help with needs such as rent, child care, food, clothing, utilities, household goods and transportation. The Livingston-Delhi VFW and Ladies Auxiliary VFW also send care packages to the troops who are deployed in foreign countries. National Military Services
VFW and Ladies Auxiliary members provide direct support to our deployed service personnel, U.S. veterans and their families. The Military Assistance Program (MAP) supports local Posts in sponsoring military units through care packages, hosting events and providing support to family members of deployed soldiers. Unmet Needs and Emergency Financial Assistance programs provide grants to families of deployed or recently returned service members who require immediate monetary help. MAP also offers Operation Uplink, which connects service members and hospitalized veterans to their loved ones by providing free calling opportunities.
